Johanna Kotlaris has been working on a series of texts and songs that deal with forms of identification and projection in interpersonal relationships. Gathered in an album titled GAZE, these collected audio works serve as both script and soundtrack for a future performance. For her Salon she invites the audience to join the first sharing of these sound works. In spoken texts and different musical styles GAZE interweaves the intimate and the public. Kotlaris examines how the experience of physical and conceptual boundaries––the human skin, a wall, saying no––influence our self-image and our projections onto others.
